Try this homemade Furikake Seasoning with dried shrimp powder to add a salty, savory and slightly sweet flavor to salads, rice, noodles, veggies, eggs and soups. It takes just five minutes to make with a few Japanese ingredients and McCormick Culinary® Sesame Seed and Ginger.

Recipe makes about 6 tablespoons or 72 (1/4-teaspoon) servings.

  1. Mix all ingredients in small bowl until well blended.
  2. Store in tightly covered jar in cool, dry place up to 1 month.

Nori are sheets of dried seaweed used as a wrap for sushi and a garnish for soups and noodles. Dried shrimp powder is made from ground dried shrimp. It adds salty, fishy taste to all sorts of Asian dishes. Look for nori and dried shrimp powder in the international aisle of some supermarkets, Asian specialty markets or online.
