This traditional Texas campfire legend came from the days when cowboys cooked eggs and ham steaks over the fire in a cast iron skillet then deglazed the skillet with their strong coffee and grounds and poured it over the ham.

  1. Blend coffee with grounds and mix with Cattlemen's.


This gravy/sauce is wonderful on ham steaks, pork and beefsteaks.

This recipe is also nice with up to 1/2 the BBQ sauce replaced with brown gravy or beef demi-glace.

Consider using instant coffee crystals in a strong ratio.
