Asian-inspired condiment gets a spicy kick from hot chili in oil and Chinese Five Spice.  

This recipe was developed for the Flavor Forecast: Looking Back to Look Forward.

Prep

  1. In a bowl combine peanut butter, hot chili in oil, lime juice, and Chinese Five Spice. Mix until well blended.
  2. Add cashews and chopped ginger. Stir until fully incorporated. Add scallions and fold into sauce.
  3. Hold refrigerated until needed, bringing to room temperature before use.

CHEF’s TIP!

Serve as a dip for crudité vegetables or fried wontons. Try tossing with cold noodles to create a flavorful base for a noodle bowl that can be built up with various toppings.
